The iPhone 5C: Apple Copies Nokia (Side by Side Comparison)

iPhone 5C (2013) compared to Nokia Lumia 510 (2011)

It has only been a couple of months since Apple's WWDC event saw wide-spread criticism from the unveiling of iOS 7, with many comparing the mobile OS to Windows phone and Android. Despite this, the Californian-based company had no issue dragging its reputation through the mud a second time when it unveiled the much hyped, iPhone 5C.

Apple's answer to a cheaper iPhone was the talking point of many technology rumour sites for the past few months with many accurately predicting the handset's bright range of colours, plastic body and slower processor. Once announced, Apple saw a barrage of criticism, with many people accusing them of copying Finnish handset manufacturer, Nokia. The comments claimed that Apple had copied Nokia's business model; that its cheaper handsets (like the Lumia 710) were given a variety of bright pastel colours while its higher end handsets (like the Lumia 925) were given more premium colour schemes.

    2. Ok, so they're all copying Nintendo for doing color Game Boys. Or are we now asserting that Nokia invented the idea of releasing a product in multiple colors?

  3. Oddly enough, I've owned both of the Nokia phones picture here. I love them both dearly. And, Nokia has been doing navigation and GPS right for YEARS. Apple can keep their phone and all the 'apps'. I rather enjoy my Nokias...

  5. Way back Apple used plastics.
So, colours was from iPod line. But still, Apple didn't use colours for iPhone's. But That's for iPhone 5c.
But, why do you compare Nokia 925 with iPhone 5S?
Apple used the Black and White for almost all of their iPhone 's. So it is the other way around.
Not just Nokia but almost everybody copied Apple after the iPhone was first introduced.

    1. I am sorry, what?

Did you see what the first android phone looked like? ? Nothing like Iphone at all. Now let's not talk about how the Iphone stole the notification bar and many other features from Android while also copying the fingerprint scanner from The Motorola Atrix 4G (Android).

      You, Sir, are an Isheep.

    2. I bought the Atrix 4G for my wife when it came out. The finger print reader worked fairly well, but the phone locked up at least once a week and you had to take the battery out and put it back in. She was missing calls because of it. I gave her my iphone 3gs and she has been using it since. I now have an iPhone 5s ordered for her. Apple didn't have the first touch screen phone, (I had a Windows mobile motorola tilt) but they clearly set the standard for the user interface that was followed by Android and Windows phone. They also have great reliability. I know many people still using iphone 3gs, or 4. Most of the Android phones I see have a much shorter life, especially since you are lucky if you get one OS upgrade for any particular model.

  6. Apple just look at how people want to (and successfully) mod their phones and act accordingly. It makes sense to give the customers what they want even if they don't know they want it.
